Discraft Prototype Ares - Paul McBeth Signature Series
Paul McBeth's prototype Ares — the Zeus 2.0 has officially been renamed! A modified, slightly more overstable version of the Zeus has been born, and after a series of test throws at the 2026 Disc East event it is now available to the wider public.
What started as the much-discussed Zeus 2.0 has officially become the Ares — a distance driver made for players who wanted more torque resistance from the Zeus without giving up a comfortable grip and the ability to shape different lines. The early test runs quickly became a coveted item among professionals and everyday players alike. This disc is valued for its extra stability, a strong finish and its ability to drive forward without straying from its line.
Now that momentum becomes official. The Ares keeps the familiar feel in the hand and the high-speed profile players loved in the Zeus, but delivers a more overstable, torque-resistant flight suited to powerful throws, difficult weather and maximum-distance shots. This is the disc players reach for when they want to throw aggressively without sacrificing reliability. Whether it is released on a flex line or thrown hard and straight, the Ares is built to drive forward and finish the flight with confidence. Where the Zeus raised a question, the Ares gives the answer.
