Discmania S-Line Horizon PD2 - Gavin Babcock Signature Series
How do I read the numbers and stability?
How fast the disc has to be thrown to fly as designed. Beginners: up to 7. Without a strong arm, a faster disc will simply drop to the left and won't fly far.
How long the disc stays up in the air. A higher number means more distance with less effort. 5–7 works well for beginners.
High-speed turn. How much the disc turns to the right early in the flight (right-handed backhand). For beginners −1 to −3 is better: this turn to the right offsets the natural drop to the left of a beginner's throw, so the disc flies straighter.
Low-speed fade. How sharply the disc hooks to the left and drops at the end of the flight. For beginners 0–2 is more predictable and keeps more distance.
Despite how it sounds, understable does not mean a bad or unpredictable flight. Stability is relative to the power of the throw.
An understable disc is made to turn right on a powerful throw. On a beginner's softer throw, this tendency evens out the natural drop to the left, and the disc flies straight.
On a beginner's throw, a stable or overstable disc will drop to the left straight away and won't fly far. Once your throw gets stronger, you can move on to more stable discs.
Beginners: the first 6 months, still learning the basics of the throw. Amateurs: play regularly, with a developed technique. Advanced players: experienced players with a powerful, consistent throw.

Triple-foil excellence: this Gavin Gravity Bomb 2 version features a superb triple-foil stamp, with each foil covering a different part of the design. You can choose your disc's weight class and color, but the foil colors are assigned at random.
About the PD2: overall, the PD2 is a high-precision tool suited to the strongest throwers in the game. Windy conditions are nothing when you have a PD2 in your arsenal. Designed with experienced and expert players in mind, these powerful discs are built to handle enormous snap and arm speed while delivering maximum flight performance.
Still, players of every level enjoy this disc. It is especially useful in the wind, on forehand throws, on overhead shots and for extremely reliable backhand hyzers. We would not recommend it as your very first disc for learning the game, but in most other cases we suggest every player carry something like it in the bag.
When it was introduced, the PD2 raised reliability to a whole new level, and that is exactly what it keeps offering. While it is a model aimed at higher-level players, the PD2's ability to fight the wind is a real advantage for other levels too. If you don't have the strongest throw it may not be a disc you reach for often, but it is one of those discs — when you need it, you really need it.
