Innova Halo Star Firebird - Henna Blomroos Tour Series 2025
How do I read the numbers and stability?
How fast the disc has to be thrown to fly as designed. Beginners: up to 7. Without a strong arm, a faster disc will simply drop to the left and won't fly far.
How long the disc stays up in the air. A higher number means more distance with less effort. 5–7 works well for beginners.
High-speed turn. How much the disc turns to the right early in the flight (right-handed backhand). For beginners −1 to −3 is better: this turn to the right offsets the natural drop to the left of a beginner's throw, so the disc flies straighter.
Low-speed fade. How sharply the disc hooks to the left and drops at the end of the flight. For beginners 0–2 is more predictable and keeps more distance.
Despite how it sounds, understable does not mean a bad or unpredictable flight. Stability is relative to the power of the throw.
An understable disc is made to turn right on a powerful throw. On a beginner's softer throw, this tendency evens out the natural drop to the left, and the disc flies straight.
On a beginner's throw, a stable or overstable disc will drop to the left straight away and won't fly far. Once your throw gets stronger, you can move on to more stable discs.
Beginners: the first 6 months, still learning the basics of the throw. Amateurs: play regularly, with a developed technique. Advanced players: experienced players with a powerful, consistent throw.
Henna Blomroos knows how to put maximum power behind a throw. A multiple-time Finnish national and European champion, her explosive distance and powerful throwing style have consistently pushed her up the leaderboards. With her impressive arm speed she needs a disc she can trust, so it is no surprise that for her second tour series disc of 2025 Henna chose a world-class, wind-cutting power disc — the Halo Star Firebird.
Since its debut 25 years ago, the Firebird [9|3|0|4] has climbed to the very top of disc golf, earning a well-deserved reputation as the industry's most recognized overstable fairway driver. The controllable [9] speed rim is easy to grip for any hand size, while the moderate [3] glide keeps it easy to control; the Firebird won't drift off in an unexpected direction. Its minimal [0] turn stops it from flipping over in the wind, and combined with the aggressive [4] fade it becomes one of the most predictable discs you can throw both forehand and backhand. Innova Star Team players get to customize their tour series discs, and Henna asked for her run to be molded a little flatter and extra powerful — and our production team delivered.
The 2025 Henna Firebird is ready for any challenge the weather or a powerful throw can bring. Trust has to be earned, and over the past quarter century the Firebird has proven itself a reliable, dependable winner throw after throw.
